Jon Tyler Wiley is a seasoned touring/ session musician turned songwriter: bandleader. After a ten year career as a sideman, during which he performed all over the world with a diverse range of acts such as Sister Hazel, Stephen Kellogg, the band Melodime and more, Wiley wrote and recorded his debut solo album, performing all of the instruments himself. He then assembled a band of his close friends to bring the music to life: The Virginia Choir is made up of a seasoned musicians who have performed with acts as diverse as Keller Williams, Larry Keel, and the Pan American Symphony Orchestra. The diverse band, featuring Sean Mahon (keyboards), husband-and-wife rhythm section Brian ‘Piper’ Barbre (drums) and Joanna Smith (bass), as well as a rotation of different guest musicians, is becoming known for their masterful musicianship, energetic stage performances and captivating crowd interaction. “The Strong EP” was released in 2021, and Wiley’s solo album “The Longing,”was released to critical acclaim on February 25th of 2022. During this time, they have performed at clubs and festivals up and down the East Coast and throughout the midwest, including the Rock Boat in 2021 with American Authors and Switchfoot, and Mile of Music (2021, 2022, 2023) with artists like Mo Lowda and the Humble. During the 2022, Wiley also curated One Night Only writers rounds, bringing singer-songwriters from all over Virginia and the surrounding states to perform together.

“Pictures in the Dark,” the first full-length LP by the band will be released in March of 2024 on Caroline County Record Company.
